The main beach of Albufeira is located on the border of the old town. The eastern part, the fishermen’s beach (Praia dosPescadores) is still partly used by fishing boats. On the right hand side you can see the well known fish & seafood restaurant La Ruina.

The bay "Ria de Armação" is situated between Galé and the tourist centre Armação de Pêra. The salt marshes provide a refuge for many bird species, and the flat sandy beach, protected by dunes, stretches over several miles. In the background you can see the Salgados golf couse with its unique design.
